Pizza 101- what you need to know about pizza

Some people feel reluctant knowing about what they eat, wether been baked or cooked every dish has its function, Pizza is one of them.

Today I will be sharing a special case study I made about a special dish called PIZZA.

Should in case you have zero idea about pizza this article is going to help you and guide you up, on whatever you want to know about this dish.

First things first, we are going to be defining PIZZA.

WHAT IS PIZZA?

Pizza is a flat round base of dough called the crust, baked with a topping containing tomatoes and cheese added with meat fish or vegetables. Pizza originated from Italy it’s an Italian dish.

Specifically baker Raffaele Esposito from napeles, is often given acknowledgement for making the first pizza pie.
Pizza eventually found its way out of Italy (napeles) and is now one of the most popular dishes all over the world.

TYPES OF PIZZA

  • Margherita pizza
  • Montarana pizza
  • Al pollo pizza
  • Pepperoni pizza
  • Vegetable pizza

Margherita pizza

Margherita pizza

Margherita pizza is a Neapolitan pizza made with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, salt and olive oil. It is the simplest form of pizza.

It comprises of the dough usually called the crust, the toppings I.e (sauce and cheese).

The first margherita pizza was made in Italy by a Neapolitan pizza maker Raffaele Esposito, in June 11 1989 he made the pizza to honour the Queen consort of Italy, Margherita of Savoy.

Why is it called margherita pizza

The queen of Italy Queen margherita being bored of the gourmet French food she decided to order for a pizza from Raffaele Esposito so she commissioned him to make 3 different pizzas for her.

The first two were not to the queen’s taste. But she approved the third pizza after having a taste of it. The third pizza also inspired the colour of Italy.

And immediately Rafael Esposito named the third pizza after the Queen’s name, Margherita.

Montarana pizza

Montarana pizza

Montarana pizza Is also a neapolitan pizza, also known as DEEP FRIED PIZZA.
It is similar to Margherita pizza. The difference is that:

  • The dough is usually deep fried, before adding the toppings
  • The cheese I.e (mozzarella) is not melted completely, because that is one of the physical features of Montarana pizza.

         Al pollo pizza (chicken pizza)

Al pollo pizza my favourite type of pizza also called chicken pizza.
It contains a dough as the base, toppings i.e (sauce, cheese(mozzarella), chicken, onion, capsicum(green bells pepper), olives and jalepenos).

it is very unique because it is the only pizza that contains chicken in it, it is very delicious trust me.

chicken pizza is so popular these days that we can never stop thinking of who created this delicious and delightful meal.

Chicken pizza that was created back in 1985 belonging to California pizza Kitchen’s first meal , this special delicacy was invented by Chef. Ed LaDou.

Pepperoni pizza

Pepperoni pizza

Pepperoni as its name appears is a meat mixture of pork and beef that has been seasoned with paprika and chili powder.

It is also one of American most loved food staple and frequently used to make pepperoni pizza, this type of pizza consist of the dough and toppings (sauce, shredded mozzarella and sliced pepperoni.

It is very delicious and best served fresh.

Vegetable pizza

Vegetable pizza also known as four season pizza or veggie pizza.
This pizza basically contains four different vegetables, it is so rich and healthy than other types of pizza, due to its vegetable content. It’s vegetable contents are,

  • Capsicum ( bells pepper, either red, green or yellow).
  • Onions.
  • Tomatoes.
  • Jalapenos.
